On the occasion of its five years of activity, GlobalHort presented to the scientific community in Montpellier and to its partners, the history, action plan and some current accomplishments of GlobalHort, before opening a debate on its perspectives for the future.

The Global Horticulture Initiative is a worldwide program that intend to foster more efficient and effective partnerships and collective action among the stakeholders. Key actions are focused on Africa on awareness raising on food security, capacity building and lobbying in horticultural networks. After 9 months in Taiwan and 42 months in Tanzania, GlobalHort Executive Secretariat is now hosted by the FAO in Roma from March 7th, 2011.
